Don't just reward senior
management have a company wide bonus scheme, a reward for individuals in
the company that is paid on a quarterly/half yearly basis based on the
business reaching agreed targets |
This is like a profit related
pay system, but it must be viewed a method to get employees geared up to
achieving the output targets |
COMMUNICATION |
Regularly discuss issues with
employees, use a simple and clear language which everyone understands. |
This promotes employee well

DEMARCATION |
This is the term used to phrase
differing levels of job titles which could in reality be encompassed into
smaller levels. In a general sense it does mean de-layering which is a
good thing, but it must be done with proper employee consultation. |
Stops bureaucracy in the
workplace as people cannot use the phrase 'not in my job description' and
as result improves communication channels. |
EMPOWERMENT |
Change the decision making
focus in the workplace, get employees involved in the decision making
process. Let employees make decisions that they never think they would,
let them decide on what the best processes should be and involve them in
shop-floor layout, implementing changes, etc. |

Ask employees about
improvements that can be made to the work place. Get them involved in

Make sure everyone in the
workplace is treated the same, instigate a single status approach, lets

STANDARD WAGE
PAYMENTS |
Make sure employees doing the
same jobs as other employees are paid exactly the same wage rates, do not
have differential pay rates for employees (unless under 21). |
This prevents discontent

Arrange visits to the company
suppliers, competitors, customers. |
Shows employees the role of the
business in the wider environment. |
