This book follows Rommels spy in Africa. If don't enjoy highly descriptive books, avoid, else for the rest of us this book is a pleasure. Two men, friends in the past, not now, both gambler become involved in one final bet, to race their old sea ships against a steam ship from China to England. This book is different but enthralling. RATING: 2.5/5 BY: Don Winslow, PRICE: £5.99, PUBLISHER: Arrow (1996), ISBN: 0-09-970641-5. Interesting story about a senator, his dead ex girlfriend, and an ex cop hired to protect her. Lots of twists in the tale of this story. RATING: 3/5 BY: Peter Abrahams, PRICE: £5.99, PUBLISHER: Warner Books (1996), ISBN: 0-7515-1675-9. Yet another book which has become a movie film. This one is quite unique it's about an obsessive fan who makes his baseball player hero's life hell. The fan goes to quite extreme lengths, he feels the his life revolves around his hero. They storyline does show to the reader what it means to be famous at the same time it comes with the territory!, great spellbinding story. RATING: 4/5 BY: Randall Boyll, PRICE: £5.99, PUBLISHER: Warner Books (1996), ISBN: 0-7515-1397-0. Action packed booked based on the film, usually it's the other way. If you've seen the film you'll know the story, if you don't it's about an ex assassin whose past catches up with her. Good thriller. RATING: 3.5/5 BY: Jack Curtis, PRICE: £4.99, PUBLISHER: Harper Collins (1995), ISBN: 0-00-649651-2. Another book based on a film. This time the heroine is a woman in the old wild west, who sees her father murdered when she is very young, she then grows up and tries to get revenge by entering a gun duel tournament hosted by her fathers killer. Lots of twists and turns, good read. RATING: 3/5 BY: Jean Warmbold, PRICE: Unk, PUBLISHER: Tudor Publishing Inc (1988), ISBN: 0-944276-59-8. Nice late 1980's thriller about a pregnant women, a terrorist group and a reporter. Not mind numbingly enthralling but never the less a change from normal thriller books, worth a look for reading on a long journey. RATING: 3/5 |
