But reading this book and spending time next to a PC with the editor on, does prove rewarding. Takes a little effort, but it is worth it. This book is not for the absolute beginner, it is aimed at those people with a little experience. The name 'Norton' was made famous during the Norton Utilities software of the late 1980's to mid 1990's. The book is only worthy of reading if you are studying network related subjects. A good all round introduction to both Frontpage2000 and general web-site creation, launch and maintenance. A splendid insight of the names behind the companies which have shaped eCommerce. Not too boring, use it to inspire yourself. A great introductory on WML, The book comes with a useful CD rom, this book is worth the money if you intend to develop a WAP site quickly. There is nothing like it on the market currently. It will take more than 24 hours to master the book. Teach yourself does cover some advanced subjects, the book is a very good introduction to C. RATING: 4/5 TEACH YOURSELF MICROSOFT EXCEL 2000 PROGRAMMING IN 21 DAYS BY: M.Harris, PRICE: £26.99, PUBLISHER: Sams, ISBN: 0-672-31543-2. Excellent guide to Excel. Learn all you need to know, in order to become proficient in programming spreadsheets. A bit expensive but it is the complete guide. RATING: 5/5 THE COMPLETE IDIOTS GUIDE TO CREATING A WEB PAGE BY: Paul McFedries, PRICE:£18.50, PUBLISHER: Que, ISBN: 0-7897-2256-9. Take the edge over the Frontpage2000 book as it caters for all. Great text, not too weighty, mildly entertaining, the mix of CD rom and book make a valuable read. RATING: 4/5 BY: Angus Kennedy, PRICE: £5.99, PUBLISHER: Rough Guides, ISBN: 1-85828-4422. One of, if not the best internet guide around. This book is really good value, it does cover the basics of e-mail, web sites and newsgroups. But no matter what your level of expertise, this book, written in a fun manner, will have something for you. Lots of sites listed, great read, great price. A simple concise guide (rather like this web site!) to starting your own web business. The first half of the book discusses the in's and out's of starting a business, whilst the second section has details of web sites to visit. Well worth a read, and at a very affordable price.
